"Taxman" is a song written by George Harrison and released as the opening track on The Beatles' 1966 album Revolver. Its lyrics attack the high levels of progressive tax taken by the British government. Richie Unterberger of allmusic said that Revolver is where Harrison "came more to the fore, not only writing three songs but also getting honored with the album-opener."

How does the Taxman know how much is in your bank account?
Q. Are the banks required to disclose this information to HMRC? I regularly make deposits into a savings account from part time jobs, as I am a student. Am I required to disclose this for tax purposes?

A. Banks are legally obliged to notify HMRC of interest paid, but not amount of capital held. HMRC are aware of interest rates, so can make an educated guess. It depends on whether the income from your part-time jobs exceeds the tax free allowance of 6035, the tax year going from 6th April to 5th April. If it doesn't, and your interest added to wages is less than that sum, you can complete form R85, and hand to bank so that interest paid gross. Otherwise bank will deduct tax of 20% at source. If you have done form R85, but earnings exceed 6035, you should notify HMRC, as this will get picked up eventually, and HMRC will arrange for R85 to be cancelled, and tax deducted. If tax deducted at source, you need not do anything, although if your… [cont.]

did jesus say dont pay the taxman (refering to the temples preist, for the kindom of Christ lives in each and?
Q. I am trying to find out if jesus was saying not to give money to the temples preist because in orderr to be forgiven they had to pay a fine that was calculated according to sin. therefore the rich were forgiven and the poor were not as they did not have funds. did jesus then say, because the kindom of christ lives inside each and everyone of us, so no need to go to church, pray anywhere?

A. Jesus NEVER encouraged anyone to not pay their taxes. On the contrary.I found and copied this for you: The service of the sanctuary was maintained through taxation. Obligatory tithing provided the major source of maintenance for the Aaronic priests and Levites, and on at least one occasion, they received a share of the war booty in accordance with a tax stipulated by Jehovah. (Nu 18:26-29; 31:26-47; see TITHE.) Jehovah also instructed Moses that after he took a census, each person registered was to give a half shekel ($1.10) as Jehovah s contribution, it serving in behalf of the tent of meeting. (Ex 30:12-16) It appears that it became customary for the Jews to give a fixed amount every year, even though a census was not taken annually. [cont.]

A. In the 'old days' (before computers) the Banks had to notify 'the authorities' of any transfer of 10,000 or above = so criminals started transferring money in chunks of 9,999 at a time ... These days, with everything on-line, 'the authorities' use computers to look for 'suspicious' activity (and that includes some clever terrorist (if such a thing exists) trying to 'beat the reporting limit' by programming his home PC to transfer money at 1 a time a minute for days on end ..) however, a single transfer is not going to ring any alarm bells .. it's ONLY if they have "reason to be interested" in you (or your friend) that anyone will investigate .. and then you will discover why the banks keep records going back over 7 years .. PS if… [cont.]
